Frequently asked questions

What is the Radiator Cowl (ESR1027) and what does it do?

The Radiator Cowl is the fan cowl mounted to the rear of the radiator on petrol Land Rovers. It shrouds the cooling fan so it draws air through the radiator core, improving cooling efficiency at low speed and idle.

Which Land Rovers does ESR1027 fit?

ESR1027 fits the Discovery 1 (1989-1998) V8 petrol and the Range Rover Classic (up to 1994) petrol models. Fitment is split by VIN across these ranges, so check your VIN and engine before ordering.

Why do radiator cowls need replacing?

Radiator cowls typically crack or break up with age, heat and vibration, especially the plastic mounting points. A broken cowl lets the fan pull air around the radiator instead of through it, so replacing it restores proper airflow and cooling.
