Frequently asked questions

What is the LR020951 heater cable and what does it do?

The LR020951 is a heater control cable for the Land Rover Defender (2007-2016, Puma). It links the dashboard heater control to the heater box, transmitting lever movement to the temperature-blend or air-distribution flap inside the heater housing. It belongs to the heater and air conditioning controls.

What are the signs the heater control cable needs replacing?

A failing heater control cable on the Defender Puma typically shows up as a dashboard control that moves stiffly, feels slack, or no longer changes the temperature or airflow. The inner cable can stretch, kink or seize over time, which stops the heater flap from moving fully.

How do I confirm this heater cable fits my Defender?

This heater control cable fits the Land Rover Defender (2007-2016, Puma), all engines, from VIN 7A000001. Cable routing and control layout changed with the Puma dashboard, so confirm your Defender is the 2007-on Puma model before ordering.
