Frequently asked questions

What is the NRC7227 heater air duct used for?

The NRC7227 is the fan cowl section of the heater air intake on the Land Rover Defender. It channels outside air into the heater blower housing within the HVAC system. It's fitted to four-cylinder engine models, typically the 1987 to 2006 Defender.

Does this heater duct fit every Defender?

This heater air duct fits four-cylinder engine Defenders from 1987 to 2006 only. The heater intake ducting differs between engine types, so V8 and other variants use a different part. Check your engine type before ordering.

Is the heater air duct hard to replace?

The heater air duct is typically a straightforward fit, sitting between the bulkhead air intake and the blower housing. It usually clips or bolts in place and needs little more than basic hand tools. On the Defender, access is normally from the engine bay side.
