The LR105428LR injector refit kit contains the O-ring, the PTFE (Teflon) combustion seal and the retainer needed to refit one fuel injector on petrol engines. It restores the sealing interface between the injector and cylinder head when an injector is removed and reinstalled.
When do I need an injector refit kit?
You need an injector refit kit whenever a petrol injector is removed, such as during injector replacement, cleaning or head work. The combustion seal and O-ring form the gas-tight and fuel-tight joint at the injector, and they're disturbed as soon as the injector is pulled.
Can the injector seals be reused after removing the injector?
No, the combustion seal and O-ring are single-use and should be renewed every time the injector is removed. The PTFE combustion seal deforms to the injector on fitting, so a reused seal typically leaks combustion gas and won't seal properly.
Which engines does this injector refit kit suit?
This kit suits petrol engines across the AJ200 and AJ20 range, covering the New Defender L663, Discovery 5, Discovery Sport, Range Rover L405 and L460, Range Rover Sport L494 and L461, Evoque and Velar. It's for petrol engines only, not diesel.
