Verdelerkap voor het ontstekingssysteem met verdeler. De kap sluit de bovenzijde van de verdeler af en voert de hoogspanningsstroom van de centrale bobine-aansluiting, via de rotor, naar de afzonderlijke bougiekabelaansluitingen, zodat elke bougie op zijn beurt ontsteekt.

Hij is gevormd met zij- en topventilatieopeningen die de door de interne vonk gegenereerde ozon en vocht afvoeren, en wordt stevig op de verdelerbehuizing geplaatst om de juiste speling tussen rotor en segment te behouden.

The distributor cap closes off the top of the distributor and carries the high tension spark from the coil, through the rotor arm, out to each spark plug in firing order. It keeps moisture and dirt away from the internal contacts while the engine runs.
