The front crankshaft oil seal sits at the timing end of the engine, around the crankshaft snout behind the crank pulley. On Ingenium engines you typically need to remove the front pulley to reach it.
What are the signs the front crankshaft seal needs replacing?
Oil leaking from the front of the engine, oil around the crank pulley, or drips at the timing cover typically point to a failed front crankshaft seal. Left unchanged, oil loss can contaminate the auxiliary belt. It's usually replaced whenever the front cover or timing drive is disturbed.
