The diesel fuel filler restrictor fits inside the fuel filler neck and forms a physical barrier that stops a petrol nozzle being inserted into the diesel tank, guarding against misfuelling. Diesel applications use a wider filler neck, and this restrictor sets the correct opening.
Which diesel vehicles use this filler restrictor?
This filler restrictor fits diesel models including the Discovery 3, 4, and 5, Discovery Sport, Freelander 2, New Defender L663 (2020+), Range Rover L405 (2013-2022), and Range Rover Evoque L551 (2019+). On the Discovery 3, 4, and Freelander 2 it was supplied in the tool kit.
When does the fuel filler restrictor need replacing?
The fuel filler restrictor is usually replaced when it is damaged, often after a misfuelling attempt forces a petrol nozzle against it, or when the filler neck is renewed. A damaged restrictor can jam the nozzle or fail to guide it. It is a Genuine Land Rover part.
