What does this Engine Mounting do?
This Engine Mounting combines a bonded rubber element with metal brackets to locate the 2.2L diesel engine against the body while damping vibration and shock loads. It's specified for the Freelander 2 automatic installation. A collapsed mount allows excess engine movement, felt as vibration, harshness and knocking under load.
Does this fit manual Freelander 2 models?
No. This mounting is specified for the Freelander 2 2.2L diesel with the 6-speed automatic (AWF21 AWD) transmission only, from VIN BH000001. Manual cars use a different mount. Check that your car is the diesel automatic and matches the VIN break before ordering.
What are the signs it needs replacing?
A worn 2.2 diesel automatic mount typically shows as vibration through the cabin, a knock when moving off or changing gear, and increased engine movement under load. The rubber perishes with age and heat. Replacing it restores smooth running and protects surrounding mounts and pipework.
