Relais - normaal open 4-polig relais voor gebruik in de zekeringkast onder de motorkap. In de spanningsloze toestand zijn de belastingcontacten open; het bekrachtigen van de spoel sluit de contacten om het geschakelde circuit te sluiten.

De 4-polige lay-out gebruikt twee aansluitingen voor de stuurspoel en twee voor de geschakelde belasting, wat zorgt voor een 'maak-bij-bekrachtiging'-schakeling voor circuits zoals gloeibougies, verwarmde ruiten en extra belastingen.
