Schakelvork voor het interne schakelmechanisme van de handgeschakelde 5-versnellingsbak.

De schakelvork grijpt aan op de synchromeshmuff om de juiste versnelling in te schakelen wanneer de bestuurder een versnelling kiest. Deze werkt binnen het schakelrailmechanisme van de versnellingsbak en zet de zijwaartse beweging van de schakelas om in axiale verplaatsing van de versnellingsmuff. De juiste staat en geometrie van de schakelvork zijn essentieel voor een positieve, nauwkeurige schakeling en om valse neutraalstanden of het uit de versnelling springen onder belasting te voorkomen.
