Frequently asked questions

What is the 4.8 x 10mm pop rivet used for?
This pop rivet (blind rivet) secures the flexible door rubber to the door frame on Land Rover Series and Defender models. It's an aluminium rivet measuring 4.8 x 10mm, set from one side to form a permanent joint without needing access to the back of the panel.
How many pop rivets do I need for the door rubber?
Quantity depends on how many fixing points your door rubber uses, and these rivets are typically sold individually. A full flexible door seal usually needs several rivets along its length, so it's worth counting the existing holes and ordering a few spares, since blind rivets can't be reused once set.
Can this pop rivet be reused?
No, pop rivets are single-use by design. Setting the rivet permanently deforms the body to clamp the joint, so once drilled out it must be replaced. Use a fresh 4.8 x 10mm aluminium rivet each time you refit the flexible door rubber.
