De klinknagel wordt in een geboord gat geplaatst en met een blindklinknageltang bevestigd: het trekken aan de trekpen zet het lichaam uit tegen de blinde zijde om de materialen samen te klemmen, waarna de trekpen gelijk afbreekt. Eenmaal bevestigd vormt het een permanente bevestiging.

A pop rivet, or blind rivet, fastens panels, trim and brackets where you can only reach one side. You drill a hole, insert the rivet, and set it with a rivet gun: pulling the mandrel expands the body against the blind face to clamp the materials, then the mandrel snaps off. It forms a permanent fixing.

What size is this pop rivet?

This pop rivet measures 3/16 x 9/32, with 3/16 typically the body diameter. Drill the hole to suit the body so the rivet sets cleanly and clamps the panels tightly. Matching rivet size to the hole and material thickness gives the strongest blind fixing.
