What are the recovery tracks used for?
The recovery tracks are rigid plastic traction boards used to regain grip when a vehicle is bogged down in sand, mud, snow or other soft ground. Placed under the driven wheels, the moulded gripping surface gives the tyres the traction needed to drive the vehicle clear. They're supplied as a pair.
What size are the recovery tracks and how much can they take?
Each recovery track measures 1,210mm by 325mm by 60mm and is moulded in impact-resistant plastic with a black finish. The pair is rated to a maximum load of 3.5 tonnes. They stack together for compact storage, so they pack down between uses.
How do you use the recovery tracks when stuck?
Clear loose material from around the stuck wheel, then wedge a track under each driven tyre with the gripping surface against the tread. Drive out gently to avoid spinning. A track can also be used as a scoop to dig out around a bogged wheel.
