Frequently asked questions

What is the LR037690 rear suspension arm and what does it do?
The LR037690 is a rear upper suspension arm from the rear multi-link setup. It connects the rear subframe to the wheel hub carrier, locating the wheel through its travel and reacting cornering and braking loads. This is the upper arm and fits either side.
How many are needed and which side does it fit?
This arm fits either the left or right side, so a car uses two, one per side. Worn arms are often replaced in pairs to keep handling even. It suits the Discovery 5, Range Rover L405 and Range Rover Sport L494.
Why do suspension arms wear and when should this be replaced?
Suspension arms typically wear at their bushes or ball joints, showing as knocking over bumps, uneven tyre wear or vague steering. A worn rear arm can affect alignment and handling, so it's usually replaced once play or noise develops, then the alignment is checked.
