Frequently asked questions

What does the front lower suspension arm do?
The front lower suspension arm (wishbone) locates the base of the wheel knuckle against the front subframe on the Discovery Sport and Evoque L538, setting camber and caster geometry and feeding braking and cornering loads into the body. It carries the lower ball joint at its outboard end.
What are the signs the front lower arm needs replacing?
Knocking over bumps, steering wander or uneven front tyre wear are the usual signs the front lower arm's bushes or ball joint have worn. Play in the ball joint is a failure point, so the complete arm is normally renewed rather than repaired.
Is this the left or right front lower arm?
This is the right-hand front lower arm. The left-hand arm is LR126119. Both fit the Discovery Sport (2015 on) and Range Rover Evoque L538 (2012-2018), so order by side and confirm with your VIN before fitting.
Does a front lower arm replacement need alignment?
Yes, replacing the front lower arm typically needs front wheel alignment afterwards, since the arm sets camber and caster. Fitting the arm without checking geometry usually leads to uneven tyre wear, so alignment is booked as part of the job.
