Navenoliekeerring - Binnen voor de voor- en achterwielnaven, gemonteerd rond de fusee.

De keerring draait op de fusee om naafolie vast te houden en water, vuil en gruis uit het wiellagergebied te houden. Een defecte keerring leidt tot verlies van olie of vet en het binnendringen van verontreinigingen, wat resulteert in lagerslijtage. Er worden twee per as gemonteerd.

Opmerking: FRC8221 is ten onrechte vervangen door dit onderdeel door Land Rover - de juiste vervanging voor FRC8221 is de zwaardere RTC3511.

What is the FTC4785 inner hub oil seal for?

The FTC4785 inner hub oil seal seats around the stub axle on the front and rear wheel hubs. It runs on the stub axle to retain hub lubricant and keep water, dirt and grit out of the wheel bearing area. This is the Genuine Land Rover inner seal.

How many inner hub seals are needed?

Two inner hub oil seals are fitted per axle, one at each hub. Renew them as a set when overhauling the hubs or replacing wheel bearings, since the seal is disturbed during that job and an old seal won't reseal reliably.

What are the signs the hub oil seal needs replacing?

A worn hub oil seal typically shows as grease or oil weeping around the hub, or contamination reaching the wheel bearings. Left unsealed it lets water and grit in, which accelerates bearing wear. Replace the seal whenever the hub is stripped or the bearings are renewed.
