Frequently asked questions

What is the LR175797 front suspension arm and what does it do?
The LR175797 is the lower rear front suspension arm, right-hand side, for the Discovery 5 (2017+) and New Defender L663 (2020+). It links the lower front knuckle to the subframe, controlling fore-aft wheel location under braking and setting front wheel geometry with the other arms.
Is this the left or right arm, and what's the other side?
This is the right-hand front suspension arm. The left-hand equivalent is LR175796, a separate part. If you're replacing arms in pairs for even geometry, you'll need both sides. Confirm the corner you're working on before ordering.
What are the signs this suspension arm needs replacing?
Worn bushes or ball joint on this front arm typically show as steering vagueness, knocking over rough surfaces, or uneven front tyre wear on the Discovery 5 and Defender L663. The loads pass through the joints at each end, so play there is the usual failure point.
