Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

What does the AEU1747 resistor assembly do?
This resistor assembly sets the blower motor fan speeds in the heating and air conditioning system. Wired in series with the blower on the lower settings, it drops the supply voltage so the fan runs slower; top speed bypasses it entirely.
What are the signs this resistor assembly has failed?
If the blower only works on one speed, often just the highest setting, the resistor pack has typically failed. These commonly burn out from heat buildup when airflow through the blower is restricted.
Why is the resistor mounted in the blower airflow?
It's positioned in the blower's airflow path so the moving air carries away the heat the resistor dissipates while it's dropping voltage to the fan. Restricted airflow around it is a common reason these units overheat and fail.
