Frequently asked questions

What does the exhaust manifold gasket do?
The exhaust manifold gasket seals the exhaust manifold against the cylinder head face on the left-hand bank of the 5.0L V8 AJ133 petrol. It contains exhaust gas at the manifold-to-head joint through the heat cycling the manifold sees in service.
Is this the left or right side, and do I need both?
This is the left-hand side gasket. The right-hand bank takes the handed equivalent, LR010839, so a complete manifold reseal on the V8 needs both the LH and RH gaskets.
What are the signs of a blown manifold gasket?
A blown exhaust manifold gasket typically shows as a ticking or blowing noise that's loudest when cold and eases as the manifold expands. On the 5.0 V8 it's renewed once the seal fails rather than retightened.
How do I confirm this fits my vehicle?
This LH gasket fits the 5.0 V8 AJ133 (naturally aspirated and supercharged) in the Discovery 4, Range Rover L322 and Range Rover Sport L320 from VIN AA000001. It suits the 5.0 V8 only.
