Frequently asked questions

What does the inlet manifold gasket seal?
The inlet manifold gasket seals the inlet manifold to the cylinder head on the 5.0L V8 AJ133 naturally aspirated petrol. It closes the joint between the manifold runners and the induction ports, keeping the tract airtight downstream of the throttle.
What are the signs this gasket is leaking?
A leak at this joint admits unmetered air, which shows as lean fuel trims, an unstable or raised idle, and often an audible hiss at idle on the 5.0 NA V8. These symptoms usually point to the manifold gasket.
Does this fit the supercharged 5.0 V8?
This gasket is for the naturally aspirated 5.0 V8. Supercharged 5.0 V8 installations use a different gasket, so confirm your engine is the NA version before ordering.
When should this gasket be replaced?
This joint is always resealed with a new gasket rather than reusing the original whenever the inlet manifold is removed on the 5.0 NA V8.
