What is this TPMS sensor and what does it do?
This is a Genuine Land Rover 433 MHz TPMS sensor (type TC1C). It fits inside the wheel on the valve and reports live tyre pressure to the vehicle, setting off the low-pressure warning when a tyre falls below target.
How do I know if I need the 433 MHz or 315 MHz sensor?
This is the 433 MHz sensor. Some early cars in this range run a 315 MHz system, so verify your vehicle's frequency before ordering. Fitting the wrong frequency means the car won't read the sensor.
How many of these sensors does a full set need?
One Genuine Land Rover sensor goes in each wheel, so a full replacement set is four. Vehicles that monitor the spare wheel need five. Each sensor is sold individually.
Does a new TPMS sensor need to be programmed?
A new sensor usually needs its ID registered to the car with a TPMS tool. Some models relearn while driving, but most in this range need programming at fitting. A tyre fitter with a TPMS tool can set this up.
