Deze aandrijfpin (spanstift) positioneert en borgt de tussenasaandrijving in de versnellingsbakbehuizing, waardoor de as in de juiste positie wordt gehouden tegen rotatie en axiale beweging. Bij sommige toepassingen borgt dezelfde pin ook de omkeeras.

The UKC18LLR is a roll (tension) pin that locates and retains the layshaft in the manual gearbox casing. It holds the shaft against rotation and endwise movement. On the Range Rover Classic the same pin also secures the reverse idler shaft.
