Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Rear Body Crossmember (STC1066) for?
The Rear Body Crossmember (STC1066) is a structural panel in the Discovery 1 rear floor assembly. It spans the rear of the body floor, tying the floor pan to the rear end panels to form the support framework for the rear body section. It's a load-bearing member low on the body.
Why is the rear body crossmember commonly replaced?
The rear body crossmember sits low on the Discovery 1 body and is a common corrosion-repair part. As a load-bearing floor member it tends to rust where mud and moisture collect. It's usually replaced during structural bodywork or a restoration rather than as routine maintenance.
Does the STC1066 crossmember fit every Discovery 1?
The STC1066 crossmember fits Discovery 1 within the VIN range FA393361 to WA799999. Land Rover altered body panels across the production run, so check your chassis number falls in that range before ordering. Use your VIN to confirm the exact rear body section.
Can the rear body crossmember be fitted at home?
Fitting the rear body crossmember is typically a welding job rather than a bolt-on repair. The old member usually needs cutting out and the new panel welding in and treating against corrosion. Most owners have this done by a workshop experienced in Land Rover structural bodywork.
