Gemonteerd op de differentieelas, grijpt het planeetwiel in de zijtandwielen op de asstangen. Hierdoor kunnen de aangedreven wielen in een bocht met verschillende snelheden draaien, terwijl de aandrijving nog steeds naar beide wordt overgebracht. Het loopt tegen het bijbehorende kegelzijtandwiel (533777) in de differentieelbehuizing.
