Deze spiebanenflens wordt aan de buitenkant van de voornaaf vastgeschroefd en grijpt in de halve as, waardoor de aandrijving van de halve as naar de naaf en het wiel wordt overgebracht. Het vormt de buitenste koppeling van de voorste aandrijflijn waar de halve as de naaf raakt.
