Borgring voor de stuurbus-droparm bevestigingsmoer.

Deze borgring zit onder de moer op de uitgaande as van de stuurbus. Nadat de moer is vastgedraaid, wordt een lipje tegen een vlakke zijde van de moer omhoog gebogen om deze te borgen, waardoor de droparm tijdens gebruik niet los kan raken. Geschikt voor zowel handmatige als bekrachtigde stuurbussen.

What does the AEU4025 tab washer do?

The AEU4025 is the lock, or tab, washer for the steering box drop-arm retaining nut. It sits under the nut on the output shaft, and once the nut is torqued a tab is bent up against a flat of the nut to lock it. That stops the drop arm working loose in service.

Which Land Rovers and steering boxes does it fit?

This tab washer fits the Land Rover Defender 90 and 110 (1987-2006) and locks the drop-arm nut on both the manual (Gemmer) and power-assisted steering boxes. So it suits either box type on those Defenders.

Can the tab washer be reused?

No, treat this tab washer as single-use. Bending the locking tab up and back down work-hardens and weakens the metal, so a reused washer can crack and let the drop-arm nut slacken. Fit a fresh washer whenever the drop arm is removed, and bend a clean tab against the nut flat.
