Frequently asked questions

What does the AJ814246 purge valve do?
The AJ814246 purge valve manages fuel vapour flow in the evaporative emission control (EVAP) system. On engine control unit command it opens to draw stored fuel vapour from the charcoal canister into the intake manifold, where it's burned. This stops vapour venting to atmosphere. Fitted to supercharged Jaguar petrol engines.
Which Jaguar models use this purge valve?
This EVAP purge valve fits supercharged Jaguar petrol engines: F-PACE 2016 on (5.0 supercharged SVR) and F-TYPE 2014 on (3.0 supercharged V6 and 5.0 supercharged Gen2). It covers platforms X150, X152, X250, X351, X760 and X761. Confirm your engine with the VIN before ordering.
What are the symptoms of a faulty purge valve?
A faulty EVAP purge valve typically triggers an engine management light with EVAP or purge flow fault codes, and can cause rough idle or a fuel smell if it sticks open. On supercharged Jaguar petrol engines it regulates canister purge, so a stuck valve upsets vapour management.
