Buitenste dorpel is het buitenste carrosseriepaneel dat de onderzijde van de carrosserie onder de deuropeningen afsluit en het zichtbare dorpelgedeelte tussen de voor- en achterwielkasten vormt.

Dit is de rechter buitenste dorpel voor vijfdeurs carrosserieën. Het is een gelast reparatiepaneel dat over de binnenste dorpelconstructie wordt gemonteerd om de onderste carrosserielijn te herstellen waar corrosie of ongevalschade is opgetreden.
