Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ASR1579 spare wheel carrier?
The ASR1579 is the spare wheel carrier for the Land Rover Discovery 2, the bracket assembly that mounts the spare wheel to the rear door. It provides the studded mounting face that takes the full weight of the wheel and tyre and transfers it into the door structure. This is a genuine Land Rover part.
Where does the spare wheel carrier mount?
The spare wheel carrier bolts to the rear door of the Discovery 2 and locates the spare clear of the rear glass and lamps. Correct positioning matters because the wheel hangs off the door, so the carrier keeps it from fouling the glass or light units when the door is opened.
How is the carrier fitted?
The carrier bolts to the rear door through its mounting points, so it's a bolt-on replacement rather than a welded repair. It's usually fitted when the original has cracked, corroded, or elongated at its fixing holes from carrying the spare's weight. Basic hand tools are typically all that's needed.
