De deurvastzetter verbindt de deur met de carrosseriestijl en loopt door een veerbelast vergrendelingsmechanisme, dat de deur in zijn tussen- en volledig open standen houdt en voorkomt dat deze verder dan zijn openingsbereik zwaait. Een slijtageonderdeel dat wordt vervangen wanneer een deur niet meer in zijn open posities blijft staan of met een klap opengaat.
