BK 0005 - Versnellingsbaklagerkit – Suffix A

This is a bearing kit for rebuilding the gearbox on Land Rover Series 2 and 3 models. It provides the bearings needed to refresh a worn gearbox during overhaul. It's matched to the Suffix A gearbox, an early version identified by the suffix letter in the gearbox serial number.

This kit is listed for the Land Rover Series 2 and 3 with the Suffix A gearbox. Fitment detail on these early boxes can be limited, so it's best to confirm your gearbox suffix against the kit before ordering, especially on vehicles with a replacement gearbox.

The suffix is the letter shown after the gearbox serial number on the casing. This kit suits the Suffix A box used on Series 2 and 3. Since gearboxes were often changed over the years, check the actual suffix stamped on your gearbox rather than assuming it from the vehicle year.

Worn gearbox bearings usually show up as a whine or rumble that changes with road speed, and sometimes play in the shafts. On a Series gearbox these bearings typically wear with age and mileage, so a rebuild kit like this is fitted when the box is stripped for noise or roughness.
