What is the DXW500010LR hood header catch and what does it do?
The DXW500010LR is the latch that secures the folding convertible hood to the header rail at the top of the windscreen frame, on the Land Rover Freelander 1. It clamps the leading edge of the soft top onto the windscreen surround, holding the hood closed and weather-sealed when raised.
How many hood header catches are needed?
Two are needed per vehicle on the Freelander 1, one each side of the header rail. If one has failed it's often worth replacing both so the hood clamps evenly across the windscreen frame.
Which Freelander 1 models does this catch fit?
This catch fits the 3-door Freelander 1 Soft Back and Hard Back convertible models only, from VIN 3A278711 (chassis break at 3A278710). It doesn't fit the 5-door hardtop. Check your VIN and body style before ordering.
