What is the Con Rod Bearing Set – 010 used for?

The Con Rod Bearing Set – 010 is a set of connecting rod big-end bearing shells for the 2.7L V6 diesel, supplied in the 010 undersize. The shells sit between the con rod big-ends and the crankshaft journals, carrying load and maintaining the oil film.

What does the 010 undersize mean?

The 010 undersize means the shells have a thicker wall to suit a crankshaft whose big-end journals have been reground 0.010 inch below standard. Fitting them to a standard crank would leave the running clearance too tight.

Which vehicles does it fit?

It fits the 2.7L V6 diesel in the Discovery 3 (2005-2009), Discovery 4 (2010-2016) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013), plus Jaguar models with the same engine. The crankshaft must be reground to 010 undersize.

How do I know whether I need standard or 010?

Choose 010 only if the crankshaft big-end journals have been reground to that undersize, normally recorded during machining. If the crank is untouched, fit the standard-size set E276620 instead.
