Brand Jaguar

Frequently asked questions

What is the EBC9623 sump gasket and what does it do?
The EBC9623 sump gasket seals the oil sump pan to the underside of the cylinder block on the 5.3L and 6.0L V12 petrol engine. It forms the oil-tight joint at the base of the engine, retaining the engine oil and preventing leaks where the sump meets the crankcase.
When does the sump gasket need replacing?
Replace the sump gasket whenever the sump is removed or refitted, for example during oil pump or pickup pipe service. It's typically a single-use gasket, so fit a fresh one each time the sump is disturbed rather than reusing the old seal.
How many sump gaskets do I need for the job?
You need one sump gasket per engine. It seals the single joint between the sump pan flange and the crankcase on the V12 petrol engine, so one gasket completes the repair.
