What is the EBC9628 camshaft cover gasket and what does it do?
The EBC9628 camshaft cover gasket seals the cam cover to the cylinder head on the left-hand bank of the 5.3L and 6.0L V12 petrol engine. It contains the oil around the camshaft and valve gear and prevents leaks at the top of the engine.
What's the difference between EBC9628 and EBC9627?
EBC9628 fits the left-hand cylinder bank, while EBC9627 fits the right-hand bank of the V12 petrol engine. The engine takes one of each, so order both if you're resealing both cam covers in one job.
When should the camshaft cover gasket be replaced?
Replace the camshaft cover gasket whenever the cam cover is removed, or if there's an oil leak at the top of the V12 engine. On these engines the gaskets are typically renewed as a pair during valve gear or cam cover service.
