OEM: Made by an Original Equipment Manufacturer. This part is made by an original equipment manufacturer or under their license, ensuring compatibility and quality.

Frequently asked questions

What does the flywheel do?
The flywheel bolts to the rear flange of the crankshaft and forms the driving interface between the engine and the clutch. Its machined rear face is the friction surface for the clutch driven plate, and the shrunk-on starter ring gear engages the starter motor pinion when cranking.
Which engine and models does this flywheel fit?
This flywheel fits the Land Rover Series II, IIA and III with the 2.25L petrol five-main-bearing engine, built from 1958 to 1985. It's machined for that engine's crankshaft rear flange and clutch.
What's the difference between the 5-bearing and 3-bearing flywheel?
The five-main-bearing engine uses a different flywheel from the earlier three-main-bearing 2.25L engine, so the two aren't interchangeable. Check which crankshaft your engine runs before ordering, since the wrong flywheel won't mate correctly.
What are the signs a flywheel needs replacing?
A worn flywheel typically shows as clutch judder or slip from a scored or cracked friction face, or a grinding, non-engaging starter from worn ring gear teeth. Inspect the face and ring gear whenever the clutch is out.
