FQB500130 mounts on the Defender body aperture pillar and provides the fixed engagement point for the door latch. When the door closes, the latch pawl engages the striker to secure the door and maintain correct door alignment. It fits both front and rear side door positions.

Does FQB500130 fit all Defender front doors?

Not the earliest ones. On Defender 1987-2006, the rear side door fitment covers all variants, but the front door application starts from VIN AA270227. On the 2007-2016 Defender, it fits both front and rear doors from VIN 7A000001. Check your VIN for pre-AA270227 front door applications. Alternative code is MUC8526.

When does the door lock striker need replacing on a Defender?

The striker is usually replaced when the door rattles at speed, doesn't close securely, or the striker is visibly worn or bent. It's also disturbed during body repair or door frame work. A worn striker causes inconsistent latching and is worth checking on high-mileage Defenders.
