The gasket – oil filter to block seals the joint between the oil filter housing and the cylinder block on the 5.0 V8 AJ133 and 3.0 V6 supercharged petrol engines. It keeps the pressurised oil path between the block galleries and filter head sealed.
When should this gasket be replaced?
Replacement is standard practice whenever the oil filter housing or the engine oil cooler is removed. Reusing the old gasket risks an oil leak at the mating face on these petrol engines.
