Frequently asked questions

What is the EGR valve LR018321A and what does it do?
The LR018321A is the right-hand bank EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve for the 3.6L TDV8 diesel V8. It recirculates a metered amount of exhaust gas into the intake to lower combustion temperature and cut NOx emissions.
Which vehicles and which bank does it fit?
It fits the right-hand bank of the 3.6L V8 TDV8 diesel in the Range Rover L322 (2010-2012) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2010-2013). The V8 has one valve per bank, so confirm you need the RH side.
Which older part numbers does this replace?
This valve cross-references and supersedes the earlier codes LR003829, LR006987 and LR009735 on the 3.6 TDV8. If your vehicle originally carried one of those, this is the current right-bank equivalent.
Why do EGR valves fail and when should they be replaced?
EGR valves typically fail through carbon build-up that sticks them open or closed, causing rough running, power loss or an engine warning light on the TDV8. Cleaning sometimes helps, but a clogged or seized valve usually needs replacing.
