Gemonteerd tussen de aandrijfpoelie en de ventilator, regelt deze de ventilatorsnelheid in reactie op een elektronisch controlesignaal - hij schakelt de ventilator in om lucht door de radiator te trekken wanneer de koelbehoefte hoog is en schakelt hem uit wanneer er minder luchtstroom nodig is, waardoor parasitaire weerstand en geluid worden verminderd.
