Frequently asked questions

What does the front lower suspension arm do on a Discovery 3?
The front lower suspension arm locates the base of the front wheel knuckle to the subframe, carrying suspension and braking loads while setting the front wheel's camber and caster. On the Discovery 3 (2005-2009) it's the right-hand lower arm, pivoting on inner bushes and connecting to the knuckle at its outer ball joint.
What are the signs the front lower suspension arm needs replacing?
Worn front lower suspension arms typically show up as knocking over bumps, loose or vague steering, and uneven front tyre wear from changed camber. The inner bushes and outer ball joint wear over time. On the Discovery 3 a failed arm can affect wheel alignment and handling until it's replaced.
How do I confirm this suspension arm fits my Discovery 3?
This right-hand front lower arm fits the Discovery 3 (2005-2009) up to VIN (V)9A999999. Later build vehicles use a different arm, so check your VIN against this ceiling before ordering. It's the front right-hand side only.
How many front lower arms are needed for the job?
This is one right-hand front lower arm. The left-hand side uses its own arm. Many workshops replace both front lower arms together on the Discovery 3 so wear and handling stay even side to side, but each one is ordered separately.
