Aandrijfriemspanner voor de secundaire (supercharger) riemaandrijving, gemonteerd op de V6- en V8-benzinemotoren met supercharger. Deze maakt gebruik van een veerbelaste zwenkarm en een spanrol om de juiste spanning op de hulpriemaandrijving te houden.

Gemonteerd in de accessoire-aandrijving aan de voorzijde, neemt de spanner riemslapte op en dempt trillingen naarmate de riem uitrekt door slijtage en temperatuur. Door een consistente spanning te handhaven, blijft de riem de supercharger en hulppoelies goed vastgrijpen en wordt slip en vroegtijdige riemslijtage voorkomen.

Where is the secondary drive tensioner located?
The tensioner sits in the front-end accessory drive, on the secondary supercharger belt circuit. It takes up belt slack and damps vibration so the belt keeps gripping the supercharger and ancillary pulleys. It's specific to supercharged petrol engines, not the diesels.
What are the signs the belt tensioner needs replacing?
