What does the camshaft cover do?
The camshaft cover encloses the camshafts and valvetrain and seals the top of the cylinder head on the 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol engine (DOHC GDI). It keeps oil contained within the head and covers the valve gear.
Why does the camshaft cover need replacing?
Camshaft covers typically need replacing when they crack, warp, or the gasket and seals start leaking oil. On the 3.0L supercharged V6, oil weeping from the cover is a common reason for renewal. A cracked cover or failed seal lets oil escape and can foul surrounding components.
Which Land Rovers use this camshaft cover?
