What is the LR721HD heavy-duty rear crossmember?
The LR721HD is a heavy-duty rear crossmember pressed from 3mm steel with 200mm side extensions. The thicker section gives greater strength and corrosion life than the standard pressing. It closes the rear of the Defender 90 chassis, tying the side rails together and carrying the rear body mounts and towing fittings.
Which Defender chassis does the LR721HD fit?
The LR721HD is sized for the pre-Td5 Defender 90 TDi chassis and fits 200TDi and 300TDi models. Because the 200mm extensions and crossmember geometry are chassis-specific, confirm your chassis matches before ordering.
Why choose the 3mm HD crossmember over a standard one?
The 3mm HD crossmember uses thicker steel than the standard pressing, so it resists corrosion and structural fatigue longer, which suits restoration and heavy-use chassis repair. It's a weld-in part, so fitting means cutting out the old crossmember and welding the replacement to the surviving rails.
