What does the front anti-roll bar link do?
The front anti-roll bar link connects the anti-roll bar to the front suspension so the bar can resist body roll. On the Jaguar XJ (X308) 1997-2003, worn link joints break that connection and cause knocking. This is a Meyle HD uprated link.
How many front anti-roll bar links are needed?
Front anti-roll bar links are typically replaced in pairs, one per side, so most Jaguar XJ (X308) jobs need two. Fitting both keeps the front bar balanced and avoids the second side failing soon after.
What are the signs the front anti-roll bar link is worn?
Knocking or rattling over bumps and through low-speed turns is the usual sign of a worn front anti-roll bar link, caused by play in the ball joints. On the XJ (X308) the Meyle HD link is a stronger replacement for the original.
