What is the NTC5101 rear bumper reflector?
The NTC5101 is the red rear reflector for the Discovery 1 (1989-1998). It clips into the rear bumper end cap and provides the legally required passive rear-facing reflective surface.
Does this reflector have a bulb or wiring?
No. The NTC5101 is a passive optical reflector only, with no bulb or electrical connection. It reflects light from following vehicles rather than lighting up, so there's nothing to wire in when you fit it.
How many are needed and which Discovery 1 fits?
The Discovery 1 uses two, one in each rear bumper end cap. It fits 1989-1998 cars up to VIN KA055950 and from VIN LA067188, with a different reflector fitted between those VIN breaks. Check your VIN to confirm.
