Stofafvoerklep voor het luchtfilterhuis. De flexibele terugslagklep past op het laagste punt van het luchtfilterhuis en laat opgehoopt stof en water onder invloed van de pulserende inlaatlucht weglopen, terwijl deze tijdens normaal gebruik afdicht zodat er geen ongefilterde lucht naar binnen wordt gezogen.

Een uitgeharde, gescheurde of ontbrekende klep verwijdert vuil niet – waardoor dit zich ophoopt tegen het filterelement – of laat ongefilterde lucht in de inlaat. Inspecteer de klep bij het onderhoud van het luchtfilter en vervang deze indien versleten.

What does the air cleaner dump valve do?
The air cleaner dump valve is a one-way rubber valve at the lowest point of the air filter housing. It lets accumulated dust and water drain out under the pulsing of intake air, then seals shut during normal running so no unfiltered air is drawn in past it.
What happens when the dump valve fails?
A hardened, torn or missing dump valve either stops clearing debris, letting it collect against the filter element, or lets unmetered air into the intake. Inspect it when servicing the air cleaner and renew it if it has perished or gone hard.
