What is the stainless steel side intake for?
The stainless steel side intake is an air intake grille for the front wing of the Land Rover Defender, right-hand side. It replaces the standard moulded plastic grille over the wing intake aperture that feeds air into the engine bay. Stainless steel resists corrosion and gives a brushed metal finish the plastic original can't match.
How does the stainless side intake fit to the wing?
The stainless steel side intake fits the Defender's existing wing aperture and is retained with fixing screws, so it bolts straight on in place of the plastic grille with no cutting or modification. It's a simple swap most owners can do at home with basic hand tools.
Do I need the left or right side intake?
This is the right-hand side intake for the Defender. The wing intakes are handed, so the left and right grilles aren't interchangeable. If you're upgrading both plastic grilles to stainless, order the RH and LH side intakes together so the brushed finish matches across both front wings.
