Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Heater Blower Speed Resistor do?
The Heater Blower Speed Resistor sets the lower fan speeds of the heater and ventilation blower on air-conditioned models. Wired in series with the blower motor, it drops supply voltage at the intermediate switch positions so the motor runs slower. At full speed it's bypassed.
Where is the blower resistor located?
The blower resistor mounts in the heater blower housing, sitting within the airflow so the moving air cools the resistor element during operation. It's part of the heater and ventilation system on air-conditioned Discovery 1, Discovery 2 and Range Rover Classic models.
Why does the heater blower resistor fail?
The blower resistor typically fails from constant heat cycling of its element. When it goes, the lower and intermediate fan speeds usually stop working while full speed still runs, because full speed bypasses the resistor. A blower that only works on its highest setting is the common symptom.
Is this resistor only for air-conditioned vehicles?
Yes, this is the heater blower speed resistor for air-conditioned applications on Discovery 1, Discovery 2 and Range Rover Classic. Vehicles without air conditioning use a different blower resistor, so confirm your car has factory A/C before ordering.
