What is this rear brake caliper used for?

This right-hand rear brake caliper clamps the pads against the disc under hydraulic pressure on the Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE with 17-inch rear brakes. It has an integrated electric park brake actuator, so the parking brake works through the caliper piston rather than a separate cable mechanism.

What is special about fitting this electric park brake caliper?

The piston must be wound back electronically with approved diagnostic equipment before the pads can be removed, because the caliper carries an integrated electric park brake motor. The brake circuit must be bled after fitting on the Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE.

What are the signs this rear caliper needs replacing?
